What you do today can improve all your tomorrows.
(Quote attributed to Ralph Marston)
Why do we need to sleep?
Researchers have developed a number of theories. One is that regular, extended sleep cycles give us a break from external stimulation. We “upload” information while we’re awake, then “download” or process it during slumber.
I’ve another theory on sleep — one that probably wouldn’t get much traction in scientific circles. Even more than the rising and setting of the sun, sleep provides the concept of “one day at a time.” It gives us a chance to make a fresh start every 24 hours.
Every day, you have the opportunity to chart a new path. You can change the direction of your life, should you choose, anytime you want. This is the day you’ve been waiting for. This is the day when miracles occur.
This day.
And when you ‘waste a day,’ you waste the essence of life. You throw away the most valuable stuff in the world — your time.
Don’t do that. Seize the day.
Begin again to do the things you know you should do. Begin again to live the life you have imagined.
Roadturn Challenge: Wipe the slate clean. Erase the board. Consider this new day (and a day can start anytime you say so) as the line in the sand. THIS is the day everything changes. Work with that idea. See how it feels. Experiment.
Roadturn Principle: This is the day you’ve been waiting for. Greet it with joy in your heart. Embrace it with all your might, and come awake to the incredible possibilities before you.
Let’s talk about it.
