Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.
— quote attributed to Jerry Rice
It’s not easy to go against the crowd. Especially not when you do something they won’t … something that makes them look bad.
You see, misery really does love company.
Nobody wants to be lazy, but few will keep a commitment to exercise daily. It’s easy to find someone to eat pizza with you, but difficult to come up with a workout partner who’ll meet you at the gym early every morning.
Nobody wants to be overweight, but few will discipline themselves – day after day and year after year – to eat for strength instead of pleasure. It’s easier to eat more than to eat right.
Life is dynamic. Being in shape when you’re young is no guarantee you won’t be out of shape when you’re older. Look around and you’ll see the exact opposite. You’ll see people in their 50’s who couldn’t run a block without having a near death experience.
Getting and staying healthy isn’t something you can do and check off your list. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a habit … and what you do today will affect all your tomorrows.
So … what WILL you do today?
Let’s talk about it.
