Looking back on the past ten years or so, it seems to me that the most important lesson that I have learned is about others.
There was a time when I told myself that I didn’t need anyone. I worked better alone.
The truth, though, is that others are the reason for living. Without them, there really isn’t anything for me to do.
And there sure isn’t anything worth doing. Others are what life is all about.
When I need a friend, I turn to an other.
When life caves in, my rescuer is my brother.
If I don’t know how, my hands upon the plow
I make it through somehow, with help from another. To risk the loneliness of living hit or miss
no baby’s goodnight kiss
the way to happiness
is opened by an other.Even God would say
the goodness of the day
fresh sunlight in the air
is better when it’s sharedWith an other.
All told, there isn’t very much that I can do… without you.
Wishing you the best All Hallowed’s Eve ever.
