In the ya gotta love it department is a tear-jerking rendition of “Hallelujah” by the Opera Company of Philadelphia.
What really sets this performance off is that it was given inside the Macy’s in New York City. Sponsored by Knight Arts (witnessing the transformational power of the arts), the Random Acts of Culture program plans 1000 innovative presentations at various locations in the United States. The Macy’s “Hallelujah” extravaganza was number 42 in that string of pearls. Singers mingled with the crowd, prior to the noon time songburst.
Beautiful work, Knight Arts and Opera Company of Philadelphia! Here is hoping that this is your best Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays ever…
And a grateful “Thank you” to professor extraordinaire, Donna Trent, for sharing this find with me.
