Happy New Year!
L’ Shana Tovah!
Welcome to the spiritual head of the year.
Today kicks off the “10 Days of Awe,” a time for introspection, repentance, and almsgiving.
What? You’re not a Jew?
That’s okay. You can celebrate (and look within) anyway. It’s good for us all.
For Scriptural authority, see Leviticus 23:23-25.
It’s been a good day. I look forward to the sounding of the shofars tomorrow. Another tradition I love is the casting of bread into a flowing stream. It’s a picture of my old ways, my old hurts being removed from me by the movement of God.
Reboot Logbook Day #25
I hit my weight goal for today’s weigh-in, and I’m on track to hit my next major checkpoint, coming up in 10 days. I not only dipped below a 10-lb line on the scale, my girth (around the belly button) also dropped below a 10-digit (40, 50, 60, etc. are “10-digits”). I love seeing those dimes add up!
Here are my scores for the day:
Body – 2: I stuck with my diet plan fairly well, but Rosh Hashanah celebration has me slacking off a bit, and I’ve having some ankle problems that’s keeping me from exercise.
Mind – 2: I pretty well coasted today.
Spirit-2: I began with The DEEP and caught a beautiful sunset, but no real effort today.
Hey, I’m still headed in the right direction, and tomorrow is another day, Lord willing.
NOTES
