How we spend our days is of course how we spend our lives.
(Annie Dillard)
There’s an old story about a guy who wanted to be a poet.
Poets don’t typically get paid much, so he reckoned it best to move to Australia and work on a cattle ranch until he could save enough money to go back home and start writing.
After about 40 years, he reckoned himself sufficiently funded for poetry, so he moved back to London and set up an office.
Then he had a heart attack and died.
I know, it’s a ludicrous idea and a sad story.
We prefer happy endings and longshot champions.
Here’s the point: Don’t wait any longer to do what you’ve been called to do.
Stop trying to lose weight ‘some day,’ and do something about your health on THIS day.
Today is the stuff your life is made of. Tomorrow never comes.
Challenge: What is the goal you most want to achieve? Write it down. Now list 20 micro-steps you can take to move towards accomplishing that goal. Pick one and do it TODAY. Then rinse, wash, and repeat.
Roadturn Principle: Change your direction and you change your future.
Let’s talk about it.
