Paul quit his job…again.

First it seemed that every other article about Paul Potts was somehow obliged to mention that he still hadn’t quit his sales job at Carphone Warehouse–as if Paul might decide, at any moment, to give up his singing career and go back to shelving marketing Motorolas. Now we are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Paul announced, last year, that he had finally sent in his resignation, so we could finally stop holding our breaths. But was that the end of it? No. The Swansea (U.K.) Evening Post cranked it up again, today, with this newsworthy announcement: “While in Tokyo today for a press conference prior to a two-day concert, Paul said he had now formally resigned from the Carphone Warehouse.” Here is how you will know when Paul Potts has made a successful transition from salesman to singer–he and they and we will stop talking about him quitting his day-job.

By the way, here’s what really intrigues me about the Carphone Warehouse deal: Why did they not just transition Paul to spokesperson? I asked that question months ago and have yet to get a response. Are we all to busy to see the obvious? By the way, did you know that the chain is preparing to cross the pond? Here’s that story. And, should you be hankering for more news about Paul quitting his job…here’s the other.
