Time

The recent switch from Standard to Daylight Savings got us to thinking about time. And thinking about time got us to thinking about–you guessed it–clocks. Somehow, during the recent move, we either broke or left behind most of our clocks. We have a few of the standard little electronic alarming type devices scattered around, but no cool clocks. So, my wife found a clocks blog that spoke about exactly what we had begun to discuss: If you find yourself at time to change time time and you don’t have a decent clock…what do you do? Well, if you’re like us; you begin to argue.
My wife was sure that a mantel clock would be just the ticket. But, I want a grandfather clock. Moreover, I found a Howard Miller clock that looks just how I remember my grandfather’s grandfather clock looked: I want this one.
So, when, you might ask, are we getting our new mantel clock? You guessed it, again. She’s right, I’m wrong…both our budget and our front room are too small for the clock I want…but, someday that could change. Remember: Paul Potts was riding a bicycle to work, one year ago. Today, he is touring the world and can drive (when he gets his license) anything he wants. Dreams do come true, and I’m not going to let go of mine. Besides, it was great to think back and see my grandfather, grandmother, and me playing in their family room and listening to that chime. Whenver I hear a grandfather clock, I think of them…and it is always a good thought.
